Our classes include all equipment, private location with water and restrooms and greatrock climbing phoenix instructors! We do not offer certifications however we will help prepare you for the activity you want to master.

Rappel Arizona Guides

Central Location: No long drives here, our private property site is in central Phoenix Arizona at the base of beautiful South Mountain.
Travel Time: The average travel time from most resorts is only 30 minutes!
Selection: Our site has over 8 different top rope rock climbs to try plus a teaching area with natural anchors and bolts. We have over 10 different rappels ranging from 30 to over 100 vertical feet!
Variety: We have the most diverse climbing cliff in all of Phoenix with slab, face, overhangs, boulders, cracks, aretes, dihedrals and our 100 foot tall chimney!
Amenities: Most outdoor class locations don’t have amenities to make your class experience comfortable. We have bathrooms with flush toilets, drinking fountains, paved parking, sitting areas for lunch, cell service and indoor facilities to cool down or warm up.
Access: Our cliff is a short 5 minute walk from our private parking lot. This makes it easy for kids and guests to come and participate or watch.
Staff: Made up of seasoned rope access instructors, our staff are personable, friendly and dedicated to helping you achieve the best possible learning and classroom experience!
Equipment: We provide ropes, helmets, climbing shoes, hardware, and harnesses–everything you need for a great day of class!

Learn to Rappel Class

Learn how to rappel in this class, perfect for beginners as we start with therock climbing phoenix basics. You’ll have plenty of time to practice your skills. Half Day Class.

This class provides time to climb with expert rock climbing instructors, experience a variety of climbs, learn how to belay and leave the class with a training plan to further develop your rock climbing skills. Full Day Class.

This class is all about identifying, setting up and utilizing anchors for rappelling and rock climbing. Learn from our expert guides and practice setting up and taking town anchors. Full Day Class.

Canyoneering Class

Learn the essentials to descend canyons. Anchors, rappelling, knots, ascending, retrievables, down climbing, navigation are just some of the topics in this two day class. Learn from our expert guides and practice setting up and taking town natural anchors, retrievables, canyoneering specific knots and much more! Two Full Day Class.

Sport Climbing Lead Class

Rappel Arizona is fortunate enough to have one of the premier big wall climbers of the past few decades to teach this class. Spend two days learning the basics of bill wall climbing, aid climbing, hauling and ascending ropes. All equipment provided. Multiple Day Class.

					  I booked the petroglyphs hike and rappel for my kids and I to do. Damien was an amazing guide. He chatted with each of the kids—ages 10-17. We were able... read more to determine our pace and stop as we wanted. The hike was so nice and seeing the petroglyphs was really amazing. 

Then we did the rappelling. My younger 2 kids were pretty nervous and scared. Damien and Connor did a great job being cool and calm and building trust and confidence in the kids. Damien took the older ones on some more complicated rappels while Connor worked with the littler kids on technique and confidence.  It was truly one of our most favorite family adventures. 

I highly recommend Rappel AZ to EVERYONE for an amazing day. I will be definitely referring all my friends and family to book adventures!
